Boys Weekend Begins!!!

Sorry for the lack of an update, though me thinks that there may be about three people who read this on a regular basis anyway. So for you three, here you go.

The week started with "the nail" (see moblog picture at left) that unfortunately became stuck in my foot during a barefoot walk from the grill to the side door. Fortunately, despite the fact that I couldn't pull it out, Julie could. A tetanous shot later and we were good to go. Thanks to the fine folks at CarePlus on Aurora who kept me from having to go to the ER by letting me in a little after hours.

As evidenced by the preceeding post, Miles is talking more and more. He doesn't get much of a chance to get a word in, but he knows many more words than he lets on. At the zoo, he saw a "monkey" and can now tell you the sounds that cats, dogs, elephants, lions, and ducks make. He's still a head wound magnet, though knock on wood, his current bumps and bruises seem to be clearing.

John Christopher continues to do well with his training and will have a cookout with some of his new preschool mates later next week. He is now continually testing his boundaries and our limits and is starting to understand those a little better.

Premera has announced that we will be appealing the great ruling by the WA Insurance Commissioner. More as things evolve but it won't involve me too much.

Arsenal starts their official season on Sunday and the boys and I will be watching intently. John Christopher is especially excited about seeing Theirry Henry on TV again.

The Mariners still suck, however the Seahawks are a pre-season favorite to do very well in the NFC this year, perhaps as far as challenge for the NFC title. We'll see. They do look pretty strong on paper and barring any injuries, they may live up to some of the pre-season expectations.

Julie is off to the San Juan Islands for some whale-watching this weekend so the boys are having a huge house party. It's pizza tonight and some sort of road trip tomorrow. Not sure where yet but it will be a great one no doubt. Sunday will be sports extravaganza starting with the PGA final round, Arsenal-Everton, ManUtd-Chelsea and of course NASCAR from Sonoma.

I'll post after this weekend with updates...give us a call.
