Greetings to all.
Very busy summer for the Cakes. Not doing much specific in particular but we're pretty busy anyway.
John Christopher continues his talking and is using his new words to tell us what he wants. This is good and bad! We've been having him tell us when he wants more food or drink and he has decided to tell us "more wahkah" (loosely translates as "more water") regardless of whether or not he wants water or not. His other favorite words are "moto-cycuuuuuuulh" (motorcycle), "no way" (no way), and "all done". Our favorite books this month include "Car" (This Car), "Bus" (Riding the Bus to School), and "Truck" (Trucks).
Miles is doing well too. He had his six month doctor's appointment and landed in at about 17.4 lbs and 26.75 inches which puts him in the 50%. He's thin and long and is as wiggly as can be. He's starting to crawl and sit by himself. He has a good grip and likes to hold things and grasp at things that are nearby. We're working on giving him solid foods, however he's not a big fan of the rice cereal. Bananas and peaches are tolerable however.
John Christopher and "Miley" (JCC calls him this) like to play together, usually in Miles' crib. JC is learning to be gentle with Miles, though Miles gets in the way of a whirling JC sometimes.
We are all sleeping better, though not enough.
Weather's been great and the Mariners only so-so.
Hope to hear from you soon.
