Here, I will attempt to recreate this conversation.
The context is that the boys were given a Bob the Builder sleeping bag from the kids down the street. John Christopher has taken it as "his own" and has left Miles without a sleeping bag. Julie says to the boys that we should look online to order a sleeping bag for Miles, perhaps a Thomas the Tank Engine one or even a NASCAR one.
Julie: Here's a NASCAR one Miles, come see what you think.
Miles: I like it.
John Christopher (to Dad who's in the kitchen): Dad, Mom's found a NASCAR sleeping bag online.
Dad: Really, where did she find it?
John Christopher: Sleeping Bags. com
This may have been the funniest thing he's ever said. Unfortunately, it may not read that funny. By the way, I think she was on eBay.
