We’ve now began to fully adjust to being back in Seattle after our trip back home and to the beach. The boys were pretty sick once we left and they continued to show ill effects of their cough, fever, runny nose stuff up until about yesterday. Fortunately, the “goose coughing” has subsided.
We were able to score haircuts for the boys to repair the damage done by the previous cuts. Miles was a site, he continues to not enjoy getting his hair cut, though he looks great. We have a picture of the new haircuts that I will try and get out soon.
Tuesday was John Christopher’s second day of pre-school (he missed last Thursday due to illness) and it appeared that he had a really good time and was well behaved and helpful. Ms. Elise volunteered that he was a good helper and she was surprised at how much John Christopher knew. From what we can gather from JC, his day is filled with doing crafts and art projects, singing some songs, reading stories and having lunch. Specific mention from Tuesday was his time with the “triangle” which best we can decipher is that they played the triangle (as in the metal music thing that goes “ding”).
On Tuesday, Miles began his school too as Julie has enrolled him in a class called “Kindermusik” which is a toddler level parent-child time of doing music and artsy stuff. All signs pointed to Miles having a good time too, doing things like singing songs, dancing with Mom, making noises and learning different motions (like using the hammer, sawing, etc.).
Most importantly, both Miles and John Christopher have hit some serious milestones in their speech development. Sometime just after our return, the art of conversation has hit John Christopher and now talking with him is very different than it has been before. Pay attention when you call and you will see what I am talking about.
As well, Miles has for the last week hit his stride with communicating using words. He will repeat anything you say and is now using multiple word combinations to express his thoughts and desires. As you know anything other than “NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!” makes Mom and Dad very happy.
Outside of that, Julie has continued to land new clients like a high-powered client magnet and is currently “full”. This is great as the work she is doing is definitely building a reputation for her in certain circles in Seattle which is a nice thing to see.
I’ve started on some new projects at work so it’s nice to be busy again and I’m still living out of the suitcase that I brought to NC. It’s time to do the laundry.
I’ve also been playing endlessly with the iPod that was gifted to me for my birthday. This is a very, very slick device and of course I’ve been crash course cramming on the tips and tricks to get it running just the right way. Needless to say I’ve become a convert and evangelist for the iPod here at work and I believe that we’ll have a little iPod community here in our department by the end of the month.
We downloaded the pictures from the beach and they were pretty good. I know I’ve promised some to many of you so look for them in the next two weeks or so. It is at the top of my spare time list to get these done (now that the iPod is set up like I want). If there are specific events/shots that you remember or want, drop me a line and let me know.
Has anyone in Seattle seen my cellphone? Ugh.
