July Update

Wow, a busy weekend. Julie's sister Kelley and her boyfriend Stuart were in town. We had a good time and got out a bit. More to come on that.

Miles was sick most of the week with a virus but fortunately began feeling better on Friday and Saturday. He seems to be back to his self these days. In a new development, Miles has decided to say something other than "no" and has now added the word "Yes" to his vocabulary. He's going to bust out talking soon and it will be fun for everyone to hear him express himself a little more.

John Christopher's potty training continues and he has his good days and bad days. Saturday he went the whole day with no accidents and actually went potty in many strange places. He was rewarded with a new basketball shirt and a football shirt that we picked up from the Gap.

The Fourth of July was spent at Gasworks Park as we normally do with the Brittles, Heather and others. The fireworks were nice and the boys, though tired really enjoyed them I think.

Monday we went hiking to Denny Creek, which was the boys first official hiking trip. They did rather well, John Christopher hiked about a mile by himself and had a fun time with his hiking stick, looking at ferns and crossing bridges. Miles did well too, taking most of his trip on the shoulders of mom and dad. He is the adventurous one and wanted to climb down in the river the whole time. Not good.

In good news we ended up saving almost $600 on our plane tickets thanks to the fares dropping to $200.00 a ticket. If you want to come out, now would be a good time to get those fares.

The weather yesterday was 65 and rainy, felt like March. Bizarre.

Don't forget to look at the "Moblog" link on the left. I post my pictures from my camera phone over there. You can see the most current picture and can access all of them by clicking on the photo.

Let us know what's up!
